A Few Problems Pop Up
Well after a week and a half I guess the honeymoon is over. We are having a couple of issues with the construction of the house. Now don’t get me wrong, these are not major issues, but issues none the less.
The first issue is that we have some sort of leak under one of the bathroom sinks. It is not pouring but we do have a bowl under it to catch what does fall. I called the superintendent yesterday who got a plumber out here this morning to fix it.
The plumber showed up, did something, and then left. Unfortunately the leak is still there.
In our other bathroom I went to plug a night light into the outlet near the sink but the outlet did not work. Knowing that it is a GFI outlet I went hunting around the house to find the tripped circuit. After a thorough search of all the GFI, they were all fine, not a one was tripped. So this morning I made another phone call to the super.
He was here within the hour to check it out himself. I had left for work by that time but he called me a few hours later to let me know that there was an outlet that was behind the bathroom mirror that was never hooked up. He had got some guys over to take the mirror down and the electrician to fix the outlet.
The response time was great except for the fact that they were not able to put the mirror back up because they needed to get someone to cut a hole in it for the outlet (click on the picture to see where outlet is located). I was supposed to get a call back to let me know when they would be out but the call never came. So yet another call to the super.
All in all though, with these little issues I still cannot complain – this house is great!

From the pic it looks like it’s leaking from the shut off, not the drain. You (or the plumber) probably over tightened it. Those compression fittings will leak if you over-tighten. Get a new speedy connector for $10 and replace that line.

We are just days into our 1 year warranty on the house so I am going to let the “free” plumber crawl under there and do it.
I will keep your comment in mind once the warranty expires though!
