The Masters House

This morning I went to the store and found someone having a garage sale. I found a cute little bench. It is natural wood, not stained. I want to sand it down to clean it up and then paint it to add to Genesis room. I only paid $2 for it. Pure wood.

I think I want to paint it white and paint flowers and vines on it. I am so proud of this buy.

This afternoon I will be working on painting more walls in her room. I can’t wait until her room is done.

Like I promised here are 2 pictures of the 1st wall. Not all that but I am proud of my first attempt to paint (free hand) Genesis room. I think I did pretty good for a first timer. I have decided that I will leave it as is but add more green and bigger flowers to it.

I think that may make a difference.

I am thinking of joining a DVD Club. I have been getting advertisement in the mail about different ones. I found the William Shatner DVD Club. The William Shatner DVD-of-the-Month Club selects a great underground sci-fi movie each month. They have the following movies which is the reason why I want to join them:

I am still looking up ideas on what to plant in my vegetable garden. I still don’t know what exactly it will look like. I wish I had more time and money to start all my projects and finish them now.

I get anxious when I think about it. I sometimes need to calm myself and tell myself that this should be a fun and enjoyable thing to do.

I need to keep that in mind and not stress about it.

Mikey loves NASCAR. Since he was younger, he enjoyed playing with cars. When the movie CARS came out, my husband and I took him to see it and he loved it. That is the reason that his room will be NASCAR themed.

We are planning to have his fan painted like checkers and his bed like a race car. I am still debating if we are going to buy him a bed or make one for him custom made. I already have 4 NASCAR FLAGS to decorate the walls with.

His room now is very plain and has a light color wood toddler bed and a black TV stand. Oh, yes the TV stand. That will get painted with checkers also. At least that’s my plan right now.

We are also going to either paint or use stickers for a race track around the room with NASCAR cars on it. I think that it will look wonderful and Mikey will be so happy so have his NASCAR in his room. I could just see him saying “cars!” over and over again like he does.

I am not sure if Dan ever shared that we have a Plasma TV. Well we do and we love it. Specially Mikey, he loves to watch Teletubbies out in the Living Room.

Anyways I found this really cool website The New TV Guide. This website is a guide on how to buy Televisions. It is very informational and gives you very good pointers if you are on the market for a Television.

At reading what they have to say about Plasmas, I think we made the right choice for us. We got the best for our money. Is not the top of the line but the best for our money. I am happy with our Plasma. Dan also thinks its a cool TV.

My parents love to watch their “12 Corazones” show along with “Senora Leon” and “Laura”. Oh, and let’s not forget “La Viuda De Blanco”. This is their entertainment theater. They usually do not go to the Movies but do enjoy watching a good show at home.

Dan is getting good with his wood working projects. I have to be honest, I have never known him to work with wood before. Except the time his grandpa Mike was building us our bedroom furniture, I knew Dan helped him out. But other then that, he never worked with wood before at least to my knowledge.

I was surprised when he fixed a broken side table after the movers dropped it. He also has made flowers of wood that I will be painting for Genesis room. He has made 3 or 4 work benches no and they are very practical.

He has really good ideas but I have to admit, I am surprised.

I have finished one wall on Genesis room but now I am not sure if it looks too simple or not. I wanted something more exciting for her room. Now that I finished the one wall I am thinking I want something different.

I think I want to leave it as is for some time and try to figure out if this is what I want for her room or not before I paint over it and start all over. The wall color is just too dark for my taste. I think maybe a soft, very light lavender or soft pink for the background would work better.

I think I need to not work on her room for a week or so to make sure I know what I really want. I can’t be painting something I know I may not like in the future.

As a co-author to this blog, I will share my projects for the house. I have started with Genesis Room. I will be posting before and after pictures of her room.

This is what I have in mind for her room.

• Flowers; big and small
• Butterflies
• Ceiling Fan that looks like a flower
• Green Grass and bushes

Eventually, I will add the furniture to her room as time and money permit. For now, I have my hands full. I have done one wall and will be putting up the ceiling fan this weekend.

Please note that my husband and I made cross match some information when it comes to projects that we are working together on.

Well this weekend Elsy's got inspired while we were are Walmart and decided that she wants to start on decorating Genesis bedroom (look for a post coming from Elsy shorty on this).

My part of this project was to paint Genesis's ceiling fan.

The idea was to paint the middle section green like the stem of a flower and make the blades pink (we decided to leave the walls the color that they were) for the peddles.

I under took the task of priming and them painting the different parts.
