The Masters House

The wife and I happened upon the garden section this past weekend to see what goodies might be available for the house. We had wanted to plant some trees in the backyard last year but did not get around to it early in the season and the summer was too hot to plant.

While walking up to the entrance of the garden center we noticed that they had several fruit trees available. Pushing in further we discovered bare root roses on sale. Finally I went to the back of the garden center and discovered that they had Live Oaks in stock.

I quickly went to see if my wife wanted to pick some up and she had already grabbed a cart and started filling it.

The finally tally from Home Depot was 4 Live Oak tress, 1 Gala apple tree, 1 Santa Rosa Plum tree, 1 Nectarine tree, 4 bare root roses, 1 seedless grape bush, and 1 blue berry bush. The final bill was just under $200 - not bad.

I also rented an gas post digger to dig the holes for the trees since the ground can be pretty hard. It was an all day event but the 7 trees and the grape bush went in the backyard and the roses and the blue berry bush went in the front yard.

Now all I need is a sprinkler system to ensure the trees/bushes make it through the summer .
